Why blog?

"Why do people blog?" I'm amazed at the variety; both in topic and style. There are brilliant blogs and really embarrassing blogs. Some people rant, some rave. Some people tell you too much; about themselves usually. Some responders use anonymity to spew hateful comments. Conversely, when you find a quality blog, perhaps a brilliant blog; written by a like-minded person, it is quite something. An ethereal connection, a sense of belonging. A little community forms. And it can be quite exciting to share thoughts and jokes with these faceless fellow beings.

So that's what I am setting out to do.
